CUTTER HAMILTON CELEBRATES 40 YEARS OF SERVICE #2 SAN DIEGO -- While on patrol in the Eastern Pacific Ocean, the crew of the Coast Guard cutter Hamilton spell out "40" on the Hamilton's flight deck March 18, 2007 in honor of the Hamilton's 40th birthday. The Hamilton was commissioned March 18, 1967 and was the first Naval ship to be powered with jet turbines.
