COAST GUARD MEDEVACS MAN FROM CRUISE SHIP

SAN DIEGO -- An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew from Sector San Diego conducted a medical evacuation of a 65 year old man from the cruise ship Elation, 260 miles south west of Point Loma,  Calif., today.

A call came in to the Coast Guard command center from the cruise ship at 6:15 this morning. A flight surgeon determined the man required a medical evacuation, and the helicopter was dispatched to the location.

The crew rendezvoued with the cruise ship and hoisted the man. The patient was taken to Scripps Hospital in La Jolla, Calif., and was in stable condition.
