| Coast Guard Air Station and Cutter to Host Disabled and Sick Children |

LOS ANGELES - Tomorrow, November 4, Coast Guard Air Station Los Angeles will welcome up to 50 disabled and sick children, some terminally ill, from New Zealand for a tour of the Air Station at 8 a.m. The children will spend about an hour at the air station where they will be given a tour and shown the equipment the air crews use and wear. After that, the group will travel to Marina Del Rey where they will get underway on Baywatch rescue boats and the Coast Guard Cutter Halibut. While underway the children will be treated to a planned demonstration from the air by a Coast Guard rescue helicopter and the rescue boats. Koru Care, the equivalent of the Make a Wish Foundation in the States, makes the trip from New Zealand to Southern California every year. This is their 25th anniversary making the trip and the 14th year the Coast Guard and Baywatch have teamed up to help Koru Care hold true to their mission to bring "a little bit of joy into the lives of children with terminal illness or permanent disabilities."
